Origin

The 4Weird emote finds its origins in the 4Head emote. It was first available on the FrankerFaceZ Twitch extension in 2019 and was added to BetterTTV in January of 2020. The 4Head emote shows a well-known League of Legends streamer, Cadburry, smiling. The 4Weird emote shows him with a straight-faced, dull, almost emotionless expression, save for a flicker of disappointment in his eyes.

Cadburry's sizeable online community had been promoting the emote over the following months since its availability on FrankerFaceZ, as it is a relatively new emote, only a few years old now. Nevertheless, they pushed hard for it to pick up in popularity. During those months of promotion from Cadburry's followers, Reddit picked up the 4Weird emote ad discussions emerged on several occasions as to whether it really is the best emote to express something that was too weird or not.
